Tami Hoag
Tami Hoag has written 23 books across 6 series. Start with Doucet.
Tami Hoag is an American thriller writer who began her career in the late 1980s writing category romances for Bantam's Loveswept line before transitioning into the romantic suspense and crime fiction that made her a #1 international bestseller. Her Doucet trilogy (1991-1993), set in the fictional Cajun town of Bayou Breaux, Louisiana, documents that shift in real time, ending with Cry Wolf, an award-winning romantic thriller. Night Sins (1995), opening her Deer Lake series, became her first New York Times bestseller and the book generally credited with establishing her as a suspense novelist; she has said every book she has published since has hit the bestseller list.
Across the decades since, Hoag has sustained several parallel series: the Minneapolis-set Kovac and Liska detective novels, the Palm Beach equestrian-world Elena Estes books, the single-arc Oak Knoll trilogy, the two-book Deer Lake series, and Broussard and Fourcade, her longest-running Louisiana series (a spiritual successor to the earlier Doucet trilogy, set in the same town), which she returned to in 2018 and 2024 after a two-decade gap. With more than forty million copies of her books in print in over thirty languages, she remains an active, prolific author as of this catalogue's 2026 curation.
