Sarah Death is a British literary translator who has worked from Swedish (and some Norwegian) into English since the late 1980s, publishing more than three dozen books in translation. She studied Swedish at Cambridge and holds a PhD from University College London, with further study at the Swedish universities of Uppsala and Vaxjo, and for many years edited the UK-based journal Swedish Book Review. Her translation credits include work by Kerstin Ekman, Fredrika Bremer, Selma Lagerlof, Tove Jansson and Hakan Nesser; she is a three-time winner of the Bernard Shaw Translation Prize, most recently in 2021 for Letters from Tove, and also holds the Swedish Academy's Translation Prize (2008) and Sweden's Royal Order of the Polar Star (2014). She lives and works in Kent, England. In this catalogue she is credited as the translator of Karin Smirnoff's two Millennium continuation novels to date: The Girl in the Eagle's Talons and The Girl with Ice in Her Veins.
