About the Jesse Parker series

A two-book adult crime series, a significant departure from Flanagan's YA fantasy work: Jesse Parker is an ex-Denver police detective who's retreated to ski patrol work in his hometown of Steamboat Springs, Colorado, only to be pulled back into violent investigations in both books. Storm Peak (2009) has him hunting a serial killer working the ski resort; Avalanche Pass (2010) strands him at a snowbound Utah lodge where armed men are holding guests and staff hostage. Marketed on release as "the debut of a brand new mystery series from the New York Times bestselling author of the Ranger's Apprentice novels," it shows Flanagan applying his adventure-plotting instincts to a contemporary American thriller setting.
