About the DI Jackman & DS Evans series

The DI Jackman & DS Evans series follows Detective Inspector Rowan Jackman and Detective Sergeant Marie Evans, colleagues investigating serious crime in the same fictional Fenland town of Greenborough that anchors Joy Ellis's DI Nikki Galena series. Beginning with The Murderer's Son in 2016, the series gives Ellis a second lead pairing within the same police force and setting, letting her run two parallel, occasionally overlapping series set in the same fictional world.

As with Ellis's other Fens-set crime fiction, the books combine contemporary police procedural plotting with a strong sense of the bleak, isolated Fenland landscape, and the series has been particularly well received in audiobook form.
