About the Emerald Lake series
Emerald Lake is Elsie Silver's first series since wrapping Rose Hill, and her first move to a traditional Big Five imprint (Atria Books/Simon & Schuster) after building her name through self-publishing and Bloom Books. Fever Dream opens the series with a reality-TV hook new to Silver's catalogue: professional bull rider Emmett Bush signs on as the lead of a dating show, Romance Ranch, purely for the paycheck he needs to save his family's farm from bankruptcy — only for Julia Silva, the show's location consultant and the sister of his most bitter rival, to walk onto the property. Their history is already complicated: Emmett quietly helped Julia through a dangerous situation two years earlier and never told anyone.
The series keeps Silver's signature ingredients — small-town western setting, a devoted-but-messy hero, a heroine with her own career stake in the story, open-door heat — while adding rivals-to-lovers and forbidden-romance tension on top of the reality-show workplace pressure. It's early days: Fever Dream is the only published entry so far, with a second, untitled book confirmed for 2027.
