Sarah Rees Brennan

Sarah Rees Brennan has written 17 books across 5 series. Start with The Demon's Lexicon.

Sarah Rees Brennan is an Irish young adult fantasy author known for the Demon's Lexicon trilogy and other genre fiction, as well as her contributions to the Shadowhunter short fiction anthologies set within Cassandra Clare's Shadowhunter Chronicles universe. Working alongside Clare and other invited authors, Brennan contributed original short stories expanding on characters and periods within the larger Shadowhunter mythology, published in collections such as Tales from the Shadowhunter Academy and other companion anthologies. Brennan is also known for her collaborative fiction more broadly, including co-written novels with other YA authors, and for a sharp, comedic prose voice that runs through much of her original work. Her contributions to the Shadowhunter short fiction give the sprawling franchise additional texture and side stories outside its main novel sequences, a format Clare has used repeatedly to expand the universe between major releases. Brennan continues to write young adult fantasy and has built a reputation within the genre for blending humor, romance, and inventive fantasy world-building across both her solo and collaborative projects.
