Rob Jones is a UK-based comic letterer and writer who came to comics relatively late, reading his first at 27, and has lettered professionally since 2014. He previously worked in social care in the UK, supporting adults with learning disabilities and mental-health needs, before going fully freelance in lettering in 2020. Working purely digitally with tools including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop and InDesign, he has lettered comics for publishers including Image Comics, Dark Horse, Scholastic, HarperCollins, Penguin, Mad Cave Comics and Humanoids, and has also co-written independently funded comics such as Thunder Child and Hell in Stalingrad. He works with digital font foundries including Blambot and Comicraft rather than hand lettering, a workflow suited to the fast turnaround of serialized comics work. In this catalogue he appears as one of the illustration team, alongside P. J. Holden, Matt Soffe and Pye Parr, credited on Derek Landy's Bad Magic (2023), the Skulduggery Pleasant series' first graphic novel -- a 144-page original story rather than an adaptation of the existing novels.
