Author

Alafair Burke

Alafair Burke has written 9 books across 1 series. Start with Under Suspicion. Alafair Burke continues Under Suspicion (created by Mary Higgins Clark).

Alafair Burke is an American crime novelist and legal scholar, a former deputy district attorney who now teaches criminal law, whose own body of work (not yet catalogued here) includes the Ellie Hatcher and Samantha Kincaid series. In this catalogue she appears as a collaborator with the late Mary Higgins Clark: co-creator, from 2014, of the Under Suspicion series following television producer Laurie Moran, credited across all eight tracked entries and taking over as sole continuation author on the series' final book, It Had to Be You, after Clark's death in January 2020. Burke also wrote the 2023 novel Where Are the Children Now?, a continuation of Clark's 1975 breakthrough Where Are the Children?, published under Clark's name with the blessing of Clark's estate. Her standing as a bestselling novelist in her own right, and the mechanics of the Clark estate arrangement, are well documented; the specifics of her personal biography beyond that are not something this catalogue's data can independently verify, so this bio stays close to her credited work here.
